VIDEOS: Folk duo revisits region, with stop in Avon
When Leslie Lee and her husband, Steve Gretz, left the region in 2007, they left a hole in the folk music community. Gretz ran the Mozaic Room Coffeehouse, held at the Avon Baptist Church, in Avon, Mass., for many years while also serving as the church’s pastor. Lee and Gretz moved to western New York State for personal reasons and have since established a house concert series there. But they were back in the area last week and made a return visit on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, to the home of the former Mozaic Room Coffeehouse.
Joining the duo were their band, including Seth Connelly on guitar, Peter Tillotson on bass and Hatrack Gallagher on harmonica. They even got their former sound man, Bruce Calvin, to set up the Avon show. And they didn’t disappoint. They performed favorites from their latest CD, “Better Off Someday,” along with covers from Pierce Pettis, Cosy Sheridan, Tim O’Brien and a few originals.
Here is a sampling of some of their songs from the show.
I will likely be adding a few more. Enjoy:
