Bill Staines, known in folk circles for classic songs like “Roseville Fair,” has been bringing his down-home stories for more than 50 years, since beginning in the 60s in Cambridge. His story-songs are a slice of America, set to his warm baritone and left-handed acoustic guitar.

The Massachusetts trio The Boxcar Lillies, formed in 2009, are known for their fine, affecting harmonies, blending styles from folk to country to bluegrass. Jenny Goodspeed, Stephanie Marshall and Katie Clarke have been playing throughout the Northeast and elsewhere, as their voices blend beautifully above guitar, clawhammer banjo and ukulele.

Anyone who has seen Jack Williams  perform will come away amazed. The blend of his Southern charm, weathered baritone and stunning acoustic guitar picking can leave only that impression. A listen to a Williams song takes you back to a simpler country life, while his guitar playing makes your jaw drop.
